Early on, the leaders of Dixie Softball knew they wanted to develop a college scholarship program that would help former players obtain a college education. Dixie Softball, Inc. is proud to announce the offering of college scholarships to deserving young ladies in the Dixie Softball program who meet the requirements set forth in the Dixie Softball, Inc. Scholarship Program. The first Dixie Softball Scholarships were awarded in 1979. Rules for applying are as follows: |

Applicant must have participated in Dixie Softball for two (2) seasons, must be a senior in high school and must apply prior to March 1st of her senior year in high school. Further information and the appropriate forms may be obtained by contacting Doug Garrett, Chairman, Scholarship Committee, 106 Woodlake Drive, Pineville, Louisiana 71360, Phone 318-442-3606, or by Email at dayprodoug@suddenlinkmail.com. It is the policy of National Board of Directors and Scholarship Committee for the upcoming year to award six (6) $1,500.00 scholarships.
The official winner and recipient of the Frank L. Baxter Honorary Scholarship is: TIFFANY EVETTE TIDWELL of New Johnsonville, Tennessee. Tiffany played her Dixie Softball with the Humphreys County Dixie Softball League. The official winner and recipient of the R. T. Adams Memorial Scholarship is: ERIN MICHELLE TIDWELL of Pottsboro, Texas. Erin played her Dixie Softball with the Tom Bean Dixie Softball league. The official winner and recipient of the Billy Adkins Memorial Scholarship is: BRANDY DAWN LANDON of Ladonia Texas. Brandy played her Dixie Softball with the Ladonia, Texas Dixie Softball league. The official winner and recipient of the Tim Neely Memorial Scholarship is: JAMI KATLYN DINGER of DeQueen, Arkansas. Jami played her Dixie Softball with the Horatio Dixie Softball league. The official winner and recipient of the Aubrey Tapley Honorary Scholarship is; BRANDY NICOLE GREER of Carthage, Mississippi. Brandy played her Dixie Softball with the Carthage Dixie Softball league. The official winner and recipient of the George D. Matthews , Sr. Honorary Scholarship is: CAITLIN ELIZABETH LANE of Riegelwood, North Carolina. Caitlin played her Dixie Softball with the Leland Dixie Softball league. | |
